Garden Restoration - January

January 1, 2016

In the summer of 2015, I was given the opportunity to restore and maintain a garden in Barnes, just south of the River Thames.  As soon as I walked into the garden I felt a real sense of possibilty and excitement.  It was clear that a huge amount of time and effort had gone into developing its layout and structure, it just needed a nudge in the right direction.

Some years ago, my clients son was beginning a career in horticulture, and with his parents blessing, this garden was to be his first foray in the world of garden design.  I must say, he did a fantastic job. The garden's cottage style planting is comprised of blues, purples and whites. The garden has been divided with stock brick paths and york stone terraces, each section offering a different feel and experience.  I have seen photos of the original garden and it was indeed as beautiful as I had imagined.

Working closely with the clients, I have been tasked to once again realise the gardens potential.  Each month I will be giving you updates on our progress, telling you what jobs we've undertaken and offering some planting suggestions. If you have any further questions about the work we are doing you can email me at: tom@beaufortlandscapes.co.uk.

So this is where we begin:
